Terre Haute is full of exciting pastimes and activities; however, did you know the community also offers an array of activities at no cost? From outdoor enthusiasts, to art lovers and everyone in between, this list of free things to do in Terre Haute are sure to keep you busy and exploring all facets of the community!  
  1. Visit one of the over 30 local and neighborhood parks within Terre Haute and Vigo County.  
  2. Tour the outdoor sculpture collection from Wabash Valley Art Spaces.
  3. Play a little tune by visiting the downtown brick piano.  
  4. Tour the Indiana Track and Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame Museum located at 5353 E. Margaret Drive.  
  5. Take a walk on one of the many miles of trails located throughout the community.  
  6. Stop by the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice located at the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.  
  7. Visit with alpacas, horses, and chickens as well as the shell house, grotto and St. Mother Theodore Shrine at the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.  
  8. Explore the Griffin Bike Park’s trails. Bike enthusiasts and trail lovers will find something for all skill levels.  
  9. See firsthand the best of American art by exploring the Swope Art Museum’s collections and exhibits. 
  10. Relax and unwind at the Kenneth E. Smith Memorial Labyrinth located in Hawthorn Park.  
  11. Attend one Fairbanks Parks’ free summertime concerts, including fireworks on Independence Day. 
  12. Discover the Wabashiki and Wildlife Trail.   
  13. Bird watch, fish, canoe or walk the new pedestrian walkway at Dewey Point in West Terre Haute.  
  14. Find all the Coca-Cola Bottle sculptures throughout Terre Haute.  
  15. Take a photo in front of the various murals around the 41/40 Arts & Cultural District.
