CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center
In 1995, Eva Mozes Kor opened the CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Terre Haute, with a mission to prevent prejudice and hatred through education about the Holocaust. Thousands of people, including many school groups, have visited CANDLES since it opened.

Eugene V. Debs Museum
Renowned labor leader, 5-time presidential candidate, and humanitarian Eugene V. Debs was born in Terre Haute. His Midwestern-Victorian architecture home, built in 1890, is a National Historic Landmark. The museum was founded in 1965.

Fire & Police Museum
(Temporarily Closed) See the first motorized fire truck used in Indiana and other exhibits, displays and collections of fire-fighting equipment. Also see Terre Haute’s first horse-drawn ambulance operated by the police department in 1885. Police memorabilia, including record books of daily entries from 1910 to the 1940s, also are located at the museum. At this time the museum is closed for renovations. Please contact the Terre Haute Fire Department Headquarters for hours. Free admission.

Indiana Association Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Museum
This museum is filled with a vast variety of track & field and cross country artifacts and memorabilia from across Indiana. The Hall of Fame’s facility not only houses memorabilia, but also celebrates athlete, coach and contributor accomplishments from the past 120 years. The museum educates the visitor with both interactive self-guided tours, but also with professionally-guided tours by appointment. The museum’s motto is to preserve, educate and celebrate the past and retell the Indiana history of the sports. Special appointment times may be arranged to tour the modern facility of historical displays and exhibits.

Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin
The Shrine of Saint Mother Theodore Guerin is the final resting place of Saint Mother Theodore (Saint Theodora), the foundress of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Walk through rooms representing Mother Theodore’s journey from France to the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana. See original artifacts, including Saint Mother Theodore’s writing desk, chaplet, prayer book, shoes and more. Tucked behind her amazing life journey is a small chapel room. Here you will find Saint Mother Theodore’s final resting place.

The Swope Art Museum is a place where you can discover the best of American art. Located in the heart of Downtown Terre Haute in the Arts & Culture District, the Museum offers a schedule of changing exhibitions, talks, tours, art classes, and more. Group tours by appointment. Admission is free and validated parking is available in the Sky Garden Parking Garage.

Terre Haute Children's Museum
The Terre Haute Children's Museum is three stories of fun, laughter and exploration located in the heart of Terre Haute. Since its early beginnings, the museum has more than doubled in size and has educated more than 230,000 children and adults from 22 counties in Indiana and Illinois. The museum has received funding from the National Science Foundation and participates in a national consortium of 14 science and technology museums. The museum is also part of the ASTC Passport program, giving its members access to more than 280 other museums across the nation.

Veterans Memorial Museum
This museum is filled with military memorabilia from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan, with the purpose of preserving our military heritage and honoring our veterans in such a way that their sacrifices are never forgotten. Many items have been donated by residents from the surrounding areas, but the majority have been collected by museum founder Brian Mundell.

Situated in a historic building in the Downtown Arts & Culture District, the Museum highlights the cultural heritage of Terre Haute and Vigo County. The Birthplace of the Coca-Cola Bottle, Business & Industry, Transportation, Origins, Haunted Legends, Schools & Sports, and Historic Hauteans are a few of the ever-changing exhibits throughout the Museum.

Wabash Valley Railroad Museum
Owned and operated by the Haley Tower Historical & Technical Society. The museum features two interlocking towers, two cabooses, a Pullman WWII troop sleeper, GE 45 ton switcher locomotive and a train viewing platform next to the busy CSX main line.
