Visiting the Championship Course
Opened in 1997, the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute is one of the world’s few purpose-built venues, featuring versatile loops for dynamic racing. The course, which is operated by the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, is part of the larger Wabash Valley Sports Complex on the eastside of Terre Haute. The Course regularly hosts state, regional and national championship events along with popular events including the Nike Twilight and NXR events that draw runners from across the United States.

- Gate is $5 per person (cash only) - gate may vary for NCAA and IHSAA events
- The course has on-site parking for buses and visitors
- Handicap spaces are available
- Parking will be provided on a first-come basis in one of 5 lots
- Arrive early for large state-wide, regional and national events as entrance into the main, north/south gates may be slow to gain entry and parking fills up quickly
- Policies:
- No Pet Policy - service animals only are allowed on leashes in the visitor areas; no animals are allowed on the course
- No Drone Policy - the course is in the airspace of the Terre Haute Regional Airport and the 181st Intelligence Wing of the Indiana National Air Guard
- No Smoking Policy - including on the course and in the viewing and parking areas
